This is a picture of me and a “nephew” (son of my wife’s friend).
We invited them to come with us; take a walk around the oval track; and have a picnic with us one lazy Sunday afternoon in one of the posh villages in Antipolo City. It is certainly a respite from being locked down for 5 to 6 days a week for more than a year now. #tryingtobenormalduringpandemic
I noticed that the son brought a soccer ball so I invited him to play with me.
I pretended to be a goalie and let him kick the ball to make a goal. In other words, I let him score even though his kick was weak considering he’s only a 10 year old boy and he kicked it straight to me!
Whenever I play games with a child, I let them win for this simple reason: to build confidence in them.
I remember in my DevPsych class (I took up Psychology). The ingredients for a happy childhood stem from the 3 As: attention, affection, achievement
I always tell this to my dad friends. Give your child a sense of every As and that child will remember a happy childhood. He will bring this happy memories when he becomes an adult and remember happy people are motivated people. #happinesss
