Quezon’s Legacy

Once in a while, it’s good to take a break like a movie date with my wife for a change.

Glad to have watched Quezon’s Game after a month since its 1st showing. I feel bad that I didn’t see a packed audience since it’s a quality film and a very relevant one. I put this movie in the league of Heneral Luna and Jose Rizal. We really should go out and support quality Filipino movies like these.

For those who are familiar with the Bible, I see the movie’s connection with God’s plan on His chosen people who are the Jews. If not for Quezon’s heroic act, we would not see the nation Israel today for they were almost obliterated from earth during the Holocaust. I was teary eyed because the LORD God used President Quezon to save His people. I was also teary eyed for our country because we sorely lack a caliber of Quezon’s class among our leaders today. No politics. Just leaving a good legacy for the country. Just doing the right thing no matter what the cost will be.

Whatever happens, the Jews will never be wiped out from the face of the earth and the Philippines played a part in it from keeping the Jews from total obliteration. Just like Shamgar, a one man wrecking crew, in the Book of Judges, who killed 600 Philistines with a goad and saved Israel from being wiped out. He was mentioned like a mere footnote in the Bible but his role was very significant and impactful. The LORD God will always use someone to save His people from total annihilation.

The Bible says, the LORD God speaking to Abraham, the father of the Jews, I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. Genesis 12:3.

Quezon’s act was impactful not only for our country but for the whole world because it was during his time that the LORD God saved His people from total extermination and that is why the Philippines is still blessed today for the LORD God is a promise keeper.

President Quezon was not a politician based on the movie. He went beyond politics. He just wanted to do the right thing and that is to save the Jews from tyranny, oppression and execution. No wonder Israel considers the Philippines a friend. They don’t require a visa for Filipinos who want to visit Israel. #bucketlist

After watching the movie, I put Manuel Quezon as the greatest Filipino president for his legacy to the country and to the world. #GodblessthePhilippines #quezonsgame #moviedate #joserizal #heneralluna #manuelquezon
